Allison Mickelson is an award-winning actor and performer and recent MFA graduate in Classical and Contemporary Text (Acting) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She currently teaches Drama and Music at Eugene Field A+ Elementary School in South Dakota.
From Perkin Warbeck: A Masque of Anamnesis to Fun Home, Next To Normal , Elf The Musical, Tiny Beautiful Things, Let Me Down Easy, Well, and Mame, to the one-woman show by Lisa Kron, 2.5 Minute Ride, Allison delivers breathtaking performances in national tours and regional theatres, in cabarets and concert halls, garnering her Broadway World's 2017 Award for Best Actress in a Regional Musical for her role as Alison Bechdel in Fun Home at Portland Center Stage. Whether she's collaborating and devising or telling stories about growing up in South and North Dakota or singing show tunes or protest songs, Allison incarnates characters and enthralls audiences with her abilities.
When not on the boards, Allison makes her homes in Scotland, Harlem, South Dakota, Oregon and Alaska and can be found teaching music and yoga, conducting choirs, hill walking and hiking, or eating various baked goods all over the world!
